Katie Grand, Corbin Shaw and Alasdair McLellan came together in the iconic Institute of Contemporary Arts in London to celebrate a special project for Perfect Issue Five: Substance, in honour of Steve Mackey. The short film, titled “Which Way Now?” saw Shaw and McLellan travel to the outskirts of Sheffield, the birthplace of Steve, and posed questions about the future, life, and the goal to the growing new generations, and what inspires their everyday.
Posing questions to the young men in the face of who inspires them, what drives their daily life and what they think about their goals and love, the special project was presented in the form of a 40 page story in Perfect’s newest issue, and a short film which debuted last night at a special screening at the Institute of Contemporary Arts. As a tribute to Steve Mackey, his very final piece of work was also shown - a short film shot in Atlanta, Georgia, featuring Stevie Sims and Alva Claire with creative direction by Katie Grand.
Admiring the creativity, guests included Alva Claire, Stevie Sims, Mia Regan, Luella Bartley, Nathan Rosen, Deba Hekmat, alongside Perfect’s creative collaborators, friends and loyal community. Guests were kindly treated to alcoholic and non-alcoholic beers from Heineken, creatively canned cocktails by White Box Cocktails, indulging in the curious creativity with the amazing support of Michael Hennegan, Bistrotheque, Jason Lloyd-Evans, Thomas Goldser, Jeremy Abbott and Flora Miles.
