Dior Couture brings the spirit of artistic crossovers for SS22.
Maria Grazia Chiuri is all about the craftsmanship behind the classic Dior DNA this season. Embellishment and intricate embroidery were the soul of Dior Couture SS22 together with the art behind artisanship and the hands that meticulously create and produce couture. Opening the show with a geometrically embellished bodysuit paired together with embroidered tights, the feeling is all about heightening the senses and the tactility behind Maria Grazia’s couture. This season, the designer has taken sharp and signature silhouettes and enhanced them by giving a three dimensional illusion in real life through texture and flaring detail.
The intention behind the playful elegance this season was to also cross art, craft and fashion into one big dialogue. This is why Dior collaborated with artists Madhvi and Manu Parekh of the Chanakya Atelier and Chanakya School of Craft, showcasing their mixed media unique works on the walls of the Dior showroom, blending the motion of couture with the heart and soul of Parekh’s work.
Maria Grazia Chiuri’s scientific approach towards deconstruction and rebuild of couture is diligently detailed and mathematical by transporting the sense of the Dior soul into a multidimensional spectacle, where the context of fashion amongst creativity is celebrated and expressed through bringing unique points of view into one, beautiful performance.
