Nensi Dojaka’s game of opposites for AW22.

Nensi Dojaka’s AW22 collection is a glamorous mirror of modern womanhood. Sensual, serious, confident, fun and always in charge. It has been a phenomenal year for Dojaka’s brand, as she won the LVMH prize back in 2021 and has been on top of the game ever since. Quickly becoming one of the anticipated highlights of London Fashion Week, she has solidified herself into a unique position of power, early on in her career.

Infamous for her lingerie-style designs, Nensi has created a new understanding of working with extremely delicate fabrics, crafting a celebration of the body. This season, she took her vision one step further, experimenting with long, evening silhouettes in the form of high-slit black evening dresses and leather skirts, holding onto delicate straps wrapping around the waist. The collection, inspired by Irving Penn’s Flowers series, plays along a game of juxtaposition - day and night, serious and fun, tightly covered and loosely exposed.

In other parts, Dojaka showcased a sense of versatility in her craftsmanship with how she sees tailoring, incorporating equal parts sensual and sartorial into one. She further experimented with beige sequins, emphasising them onto skinny trousers and high-slit dresses, showcasing diverse celebration of the modern wardrobe – something sexy, something powerful, something fun.
