Oscars 2022: live coverage from the red carpet.

The night of celebrating stories, characters and the transcendent art of cinema is here once again, with the Oscars 2022 ceremony taking place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. This year, we witnessed multiple stories that showcased the perseverance of the human spirit such as the biopic King Richard, based on the lives of the tennis sensations Serena and Venus Williams and their early childhood. Other major pictures battling in multiple categories are The Power of the Dog, West Side Story, Licorice Pizza and CODA. The Power of the Dog leads the scoreboard with 12 nominations, whilst Timotheé Chalemet and Zendaya drama Dune follows with 10, musical adaption West Side Story and British coming-of-age Belfast following with 7 nominations each.

This year’s ceremony will be hosted by Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes, the first official hosts since 2018. Presenting the awards, we can expect to see Lily James, Shawn Mendes, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kevin Costner, John Travolta, Samuel L Jackson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lupita Nyong'o, Woody Harrelson and Tyler Perry and Lady Gaga.
