LVMH Prize looks out into a new dawn of talent with new Craftsmanship award, and opens applications for 2024.

After 10 years of nurturing fashion’s brightest young talent with the world renowned LVMH Prize competition, the fashion conglomerate is taking its competition into its new dawn. The design competition has seen its winners like Simon Jacquemus, Eli Russell Linnetz and Wales Bonner blossom into one of the most exciting designers on the scene, giving them a platform to experiment with finding their signature way of crafting, whilst having the financial support to take their businesses into the next level, and utilise the mentorship from the LVMH network to their best abilities.

Opening the applications for its 2024 edition, the prize’s 11th instalment looks back at the immense impact by reflecting on how designers feel they need to be supported, and how to extend that further. Currently, two awards in the face of the LVMH Prize and the Karl Lagerfeld Prize are being given away, with a financial support of 400,000 EUR and 200,000 EUR respectively, as well as mentorship and support in many fields such as sustainable development, communication, production and others. From next year onwards, an additional prize will be given to a young talent in the face of the newly introduced Savoir-Faire Prize.

The new prize category aims to reward excellence in craftsmanship, technical innovation and sustainability, urging designers to showcase the best of their design techniques, ushering in the support of additional new experts who will best guide the nominated roster. Expressing her excitement about the newly introduced segment, Delphine Arnault, CEO of Christian Dior, expressed the new approach within the LVMH Prize legacy. "The Prize is launching its 11th edition and this year I am delighted to honour our attachment to a core value of creation, savoir-faire. The LVMH Savoir-Faire Prize celebrates excellence in craftsmanship, innovation in design and production, and a more sustainable approach to fashion."

Opening up the application process for its 2024 edition, young and independent talent can apply now at lvmhprize.com, as all applications for consideration have to be submitted through the online portal only. Any potential applicants have until Sunday, 7th January 2024 to apply, with semi-finalists showcasing their work on February 29th and March 1st 2024.
